The Varsity Reading Letter Requirements: Pass reading quizzes (80% or higher) for each of 10 separate book club books, plus do a combination of three 'community service reading projects,' such as record a 60 second book trailer, create a work of art inspired by one of the book club books, or attend an online author event. Complete by May 1 to earn the silver varsity letter.

The State Qualifier Varsity Reading Letter + Gateway Patch: This is really, really tough! Finish all 25 short-listed books for the following year's Gateway list, vote on all books to narrow the list to 15 books for all high schools in the state of Missouri, plus write four multiple choice questions (with answers) for all 25 books. All this must be done between when the list comes out in mid-August and when we cast our votes in late November. Completing this also means you will have read all 15 of the following year's Gateway books, so you also earn the Gateway Readers Patch for that group of books. 350c69d7ab
